EMDR- Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing is a mode of therapy to help the client better process emotional arousals. These can be from traumatic experiences or from just being stuck in old memories and feelings. EMDR combines several therapeutic methods- psychodynamic, cognitive, behavioral, etc., with eye movements or other bilateral brain stimulation (hand taps, sounds).  It involves recalling a stressful past event or emotion and "reprogramming" the memory in light of a positive, self-chosen belief.

I am happy to provide EMDR treatment protocols in service of my clients. While EMDR was designed specifically with the trauma client in mind, EMDR can also be used to help client process anxiety, depression and phobias. Feel free to contact me to see how EMDR can help you move on with your life in a more balanced way.
